1. Who we are and acceptance

The Services are operated by RankShield (“RankShield,” “we,” “us”). By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you can form a binding contract, that you are using the Services for a lawful purpose, and that you accept these terms. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. The Services

RankShield provides verifiable security and integrity tooling — including protection against negative SEO, click fraud, ad-spend attacks and AI-driven abuse — across a website plugin, a commerce app, device guardians and a platform that produces cryptographic receipts you can independently verify. Features vary by product and plan and may change as we improve the Services.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the security of your account and API credentials, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] of any unauthorized use. You must be old enough to consent to this agreement under the law of your jurisdiction.

4. Connecting Google Search Console, Analytics (GA4) and Ads

Some Services let you connect your own Google accounts through Google OAuth so we can display your search, analytics and ad-performance data and use it to detect attacks. When you connect Google:

• You authorize RankShield to access, on a read-only basis, the Google data described in our Privacy Policy — including Search Console search-performance and indexing data, GA4 reports, and (if you connect it) Google Ads reporting data — solely to provide the features you enabled.
• You confirm you are authorized to grant that access for the Google properties you connect.
• Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use this data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train generalized AI/ML models.
• You can disconnect at any time inside the product, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your use of Google services also remains subject to Google’s own terms.

5. Plans, billing and trials

Paid Services are billed through our payment processors (for example, Stripe or the WordPress.org / Shopify marketplaces) on the plan and cycle you select. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, fees are exclusive of taxes, and marketplace purchases are also governed by that marketplace’s terms and refund rules. You can cancel to stop future renewals; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Services to break the law or infringe others’ rights; attack, probe, overload or reverse-engineer the Services except as permitted by law; resell or provide the Services to third parties except as expressly allowed by your plan; misrepresent the receipts, attestations or results the platform produces; or connect Google or other accounts you are not authorized to use. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these terms or risks harm to others or to the Services.

7. Your content and data

You retain all rights to the sites, stores, content and connected data you bring to the Services (“Your Data”), including data from connected Google accounts. You grant RankShield a limited license to process Your Data only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Services and to produce verification receipts, consistent with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit Your Data to us.

8. Intellectual property

The Services, including our software, models, designs, cryptographic methods, documentation and brand, are owned by RankShield or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services per these terms. We welcome feedback and may use it without restriction or obligation.

9. Third-party services

The Services interoperate with third-party platforms — such as Google, WordPress, Shopify, Cloudflare and payment processors. We are not responsible for those platforms, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Availability of a third-party integration may change if that third party changes its APIs or terms.

10. Security, verifiability and no guarantee

RankShield is designed to contain, prove and fail safe, and to give you receipts you can independently verify. However, no security product can guarantee that a system is perfectly secure or that every attack will be prevented, and we do not make that promise. You remain responsible for your own systems, backups and security practices.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RankShield will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify RankShield against claims, losses and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services, your violation of these terms or applicable law, or your submission of data or accounts you were not authorized to connect.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services or others. On termination, your right to use the Services ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits and indemnity) survive. We handle data after termination as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to the Services and these terms

We may update the Services and these terms as our products and legal obligations evolve. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it. Nothing here limits rights you cannot waive under applicable consumer-protection law.

17. General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms, are the entire agreement between you and RankShield regarding the Services.
